breathing space
We took a break for a couple of weeks, so it’s been a little quiet around the studio lately. I headed back to Melbourne to see my family (my brother just had a little girl, the first of the next generation in our family!) and to sort out some critical life admin logistics. To make up for the radio silence, here’s another little teasing snippet of animation. Come warm yourselves by the fire, with our troubled saints.
After the intensive studio time we’ve been putting in recently, it was actually really good to take a breather, get some perspective on the project and plan out the upcoming shots with fresh eyes. It also gives the art team time to get ahead a little, as one of the trickiest things with our schedule is when the animation catches up with the art and we don’t have the next scene ready to shoot.
We’ve been getting great feedback on the sequences I’ve posted that show how we take a scene from storyboard through to the final shot. So, I pulled together a couple more, breaking down the recent scenes we’ve been working on.
It’s always an interesting process turning my rough scribbles into an actual shot. One of my favourite stages is the lighting, when I get to tweak it until all the elements comes together into one unified scene.
That’s enough for now, see you all next week as we get back to our regular schedule!
